On October 28, 2018 volunteers tore up 120 square meters of asphalt in the schoolyard of Sheppard Public School in Kitchener, Ontario, and planted it with native shrubs and trees on November 1. Almost 200 volunteers came out to support this project!
Depave Paradise trainees from across Ontario will work alongside a team of local volunteers to pry up 100 square meters of pavement at Yorkview Elementary School in Dundas, Ontario, on September 27-29, 2018.
New money! Thanks to a generous $740,000 contribution from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, 36 new Depave Paradise events are planned over 2018-2020 in at least 9 communities in Ontario, including Hamilton, Collingwood and York Region.
As part of the Peterborough Vibrancy Project, Peterborough GreenUP and community partners will depave a disused area of Water Street and install a large rain garden at the south end of a popular downtown park, next to a well-used footbridge. Learn more.
