On Friday June 25, Environment Network and the Township of Tiny brought the community together to transform a decomissioned rink and basket ball court complex at Cawaja Balm Ossossane (CBO) Park. CBO park is an important feature in the Tiny Township community, originally built through donations in the late 70s. At the time CBO Park was established, it housed a baseball diamond, rink, playground and horseshoe pit.
Nearly 50 years later, the park is receiving a facelift! On friday, more than 600m2 of material was removed, (125m2 by hand) from the decommissioned rink with the support of local vounteers. Planting will take place this fall, with a mix of native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. This will complement the recently established CBO Park arboretum.
Another goal is to connect the new greenspace to existing trail systems, and install a new playground. Way to go Environment Network! We can’t wait to see how this site shapes up!
